A news programme is a factual television or radio programme that reports the latest (current) news or events.

A factual programme is a television or film programme that reports information in relation to, local issues, opinion and attitudes within society and communities, worldwide events. This comes in different genres such as news and documentary.

LIST OF REQUIRMENTS NEEDED TO COMPLETE A NEWS PROGRAMME
EQUIPMENT:
· Decoration (like a set)
· Professional camera (usually more than one in order to cut to different sets live)
· Microphones (one or more in every filmed area)
· Stage Lighting
TRANSPORT:
If you will be shooting on location you will need to organise transport for the journalist and required staff to be able to reach that destination and return safely. The transport will depend on the distance you would need to travel and how many people will be traveling.
TALENT:
You will need someone who will report the news well, so you will need
· A Studio host (reporter, usually a male and a female, or just one single one)
· An on location reporter
· A weather woman (if your programme reports the weather)
· A studio interviewer (if your programme features live studio interviews, which the main stream news programmes usually do)
CREW:
You will need a well-trained crew to operate the equipment like:
· Casting director: he/she will cast the talent.
· Costume Designer: he/she will be in charge of dressing up the talent
· Director: he/she will direct the programme by directing all the aspects such as camera movements, the setup of the set.
· Location Manager: he/she will find and manage the locations that will be featured
· Makeup Artist: he/she will apply makeup to whoever will appear on the screen
· Production Manager: he/she will be in charge of overlooking the visual appearance of the programme
· Researcher: who will research the project before it’s done, and research the stories featured
· Set Designer: will design the set needed the programme
· Television Producer: helps to coordinate, the financial, legal, administrative, technological and artistic aspects of a production.
· Writer: will mould and create an original story and you will need more than one as they come in different forms such as , head writer, screen writer and story editor.
· Boom Operator: to operate and assist the sound devices
· Camera Operator: the head member of the camera crew who will direct and position the cameras
· Character Generator: will display and prepare the on screen graphics
· Stage manager: to stage and coordinate a theatrical production
· Gaffer: is the head electrician of the set production
· Editor: you will need an editor during and after the programme is shot to edit out the unneeded parts and tweak the necessary issues.
MATERIALS:
You will need materials to produce your news programme such as:
Script: This will have to contain all the dialogue that will be said on the screen and production crew instructions.
Storyboard: This will contain all the shoots which need to be filmed.
Research Document: this is a document including all the information on the stories that will be covered.
CLEARANCE:
You will need a clearance form for all the locations you need to film in (this is like a form of permission to avoid any problems with the law

WHAT IS A DEADLINE?
A deadline is a time or date you are given to complete a task.
WHY ARE DEADLINES IMPORTANT TO TV PRODUCTIONS?
Deadlines are very important in TV productions (news and documentaries0 because there are so many different aspects to making these programmes if one job fails to deliver in time the whole system is delayed (especially If the programme is live).
WHY IS AVAILIBILITY OF EQUIPMENT IMPORTANT?
Availability of equipment is very important because without the proper equipment, your programme will not be at the best quality.
WHY IS AVAILIBILITY OF PERSONNEL IMPORTANT?
Personnel is crucial because the process is very complex and there are lots of aspects and jobs involved in making a factual programme, if one part is unorganised or behind it affects the everyone the whole process .
WHAT IS MEANT BY TIMESCALES FOR CLEARANCE?
This means the time it takes or the process it would take to receive or construct a clearance form or negotiation.
